Mindoro State University (MinSU) has once again proven its flair for creativity and storytelling as it emerged as the Champion in the highly anticipated Salong Dagitab Christmas Festival 2024. Held at the Provincial Capitol Grounds in Barangay Camilmil, Calapan City, the festival celebrates the season with vibrant displays inspired by beloved animated films.
MinSU’s entry, titled Sing 2: A Christmas Spectacle, captured the essence of the holiday spirit through its stunning visual presentation. Inspired by the animated blockbuster Sing 2, the display featured dazzling lights, intricate decorations, and life-like representations of the film’s iconic characters, led by the ever-determined Buster Moon. Beyond its breathtaking aesthetics, MinSU’s masterpiece told a story of resilience and dreams—a fitting tribute to the university's own journey of growth and innovation.
The competition was fierce, with 10 other participants showcasing remarkable and equally creative entries inspired by popular animated films. However, MinSU stood out not only for its artistic execution but also for the depth of its narrative and the emotional connection it created with the audience.
During the awarding ceremony, MinSU was hailed as the Champion of Salong Dagitab 2024. The second and third places were awarded to Encanto and Despicable Me, respectively. Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, University President, proudly received the award presented by Gov. Humerlito "Bonz" A. Dolor.
The Sing 2: A Christmas Spectacle display continues to bring joy to the community, as it remains open for public viewing throughout the festive season. Visitors are encouraged to experience the magic, lights, and inspiring story of all the Salong Dagitab Christmas displays.
