Stories of challenges, perseverance, and success filled the air of the University Auditorium as Mindoro State University, through its Institute of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, recognized the 32 newly licensed engineers in the December 2024 Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering Licensure Examination (ABELE), January 17, 2025. The event was a heartfelt celebration witnessed by proud families, students, faculty, and staff, who gathered to honor the achievements of the university’s new engineers.
The recognition ceremony highlighted not only academic excellence but also the inspiring journeys of the passers. Engr. Jerald Caidi Alfante, Engr. Liezel B. Ganito, Engr. Juanito Jr. Masibay and Engr. Lanz Louie Alamo shared their stories, recounting the trials and triumphs they encountered in chasing their dreams. Their heartfelt messages resonated with the audience, inspiring MinSU’s future engineers and emphasizing the importance of determination and hard work.
In her message, Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, University President congratulated the passers and reminded them of the significance of chasing their dreams fueled by hard work and MinSU’s core values of Resilience, Integrity, Commitment and Excellence. She encouraged the newly licensed engineers to continue learning and to use their success to uplift others and contribute to the progress of society.
A special recognition was given to Engr. Lanz Louie Alamo, who secured the Top 9 spot in the 2024 ABELE. In honor of his outstanding achievement, he was awarded ₱40,000.00 by the university. His success served as a testament to the quality of education and support provided by MinSU.
Adding an emotional touch to the event, Ms. Michelle Labaguis, parent of one of the passers took the stage to share their perspective on the sacrifices and rewards of supporting their child’s journey to success. Their moving message encapsulated in the SIMPLE acronym (Sama-sama, Inspirasyon, Matiyaga, Pag-asa and Edukasyon) reminded everyone of the collective effort and love of a family that fuels every student’s achievement.
Capping off the ceremony, Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol led a ceremonial toast to celebrate the accomplishments of the 32 new engineers.
As the final highlight of the day, the newly licensed engineers, led by Engr. Alamo, gathered to ring the Kampana ng Tagumpay. The resonating sound of the victory bell symbolized their collective triumph and marked the beginning of their journey as professionals in the field of Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering.
MinSU obtained a remarkable performance in the recent licensure examination, achieving an average passing rate of 71.11%, significantly higher than the national average of 56.34%.
