Mindoro State University (MinSU), through its Women, Gender, and Development Unit, officially commenced the celebration of the 2025 National Women’s Month earlier today, March 3, 2025, with the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas.” The event gathered employees and students, led by University President Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, in a vibrant display of solidarity and advocacy for gender equality.

Dressed in ASEAN-inspired attire in adherence to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Revised Dress Code, they proudly marched around the campus while waving purple flaglets, symbolizing their commitment to advancing women’s rights and empowerment.

In her inspiring message, Dr. Apostol emphasized MinSU’s dedication to upholding equality in opportunities and rights for women. As the first female president of the university, she highlighted her role as a testament to the institution’s commitment to gender inclusivity and empowerment. However, she also underscored that National Women’s Month is not solely for women but serves as a platform to advocate for equal rights for all individuals, regardless of gender.

“Sa pagdiriwang ng National Women’s Month, hindi lang ito para sa mga kababaihan dahil dito pantay-pantay tayong lahat—walang babae, walang lalaki, walang ibang gender preferences, kasi lahat tayo ay pantay-pantay ang karapatan,” Dr. Apostol stated.

She further encouraged the MinSU community to take part in building a more just and equitable society. “As we celebrate National Women’s Month, let us renew our commitment to building a more just and equitable future for all. Let us stand together, united in our pursuit of a world where every woman has the opportunity to reach her full potential,” she added.

The launch marks the beginning of a series of month-long activities aimed at promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.
