The Oriental Mindoro Association of Higher Education Institutions, Inc. (OMAHEI) recently convened for a consultative meeting and dialogue with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) MIMAROPA on March 14, 2025, at Plaza del Gobernador, Camilmil, Calapan City. The event aimed to formally welcome the new CHED MIMAROPA Regional Director, Prof. Edna Imelda F. Legazpi, and strengthen collaboration and development within the higher education sector in the region.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the election of new officers for the Oriental Mindoro Association of Higher Education Institutions (OMAHEI). Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, President of Mindoro State University (MinSU), was elected as Vice President of OMAHEI, underscoring her leadership and commitment to advancing higher education in Oriental Mindoro. The newly elected officers took their oath before Governor Humerlito “Bonz” A. Dolor, reinforcing the provincial government’s support for educational progress and partnership among HEIs.
Also present at the meeting were Dr. Franie M. Afable from MinSU, Dr. Elbert C. Edaniol, President of Occidental Mindoro State College, and other representatives from various higher education institutions (HEIs) in Oriental Mindoro.
The consultative meeting served as a platform to align the strategic directions of CHED MIMAROPA with the developmental goals of local HEIs, fostering a more unified and progressive educational community in the region.
