Love at first page? Why not! Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Mindoro State University (MinSU) Library launched the “Blind Date with a Book” event across its campuses, turning pages into potential love stories for curious readers. The event kicked off on February 7, 2025, and ran for seven days, giving students ample time to find their perfect literary match.
This creative twist on traditional book borrowing invited students to take a chance on an unknown story—wrapped in mystery and marked only by intriguing hints.
Excitement and curiosity filled the air as students flocked to the library, eager to embrace the mystery.
“It felt like unwrapping a gift,” shared one student. “I had no idea what I was getting, but it turned out to be exactly what I needed.”
Ms. Filia Ofelia Vito, Campus Librarian, expressed her joy at the event’s success. “This is such a creative and refreshing way to encourage reading,” she said.
To keep the love for reading alive, the MinSU Library is also accepting donations of fiction books. These contributions will help ensure that more students can experience the joy of finding the right story at the right time.
In the end, Blind Date with a Book proved that sometimes, the best stories find you when you least expect them. So, who knows? That next blind date might just lead to a lifelong love affair—with books.
