Mindoro State University (MinSU) wrapped up its weeklong 4th Anniversary celebration themed “Elevating Success, Progress and ExCellence thru Innovation and Active Leadership for a Legacy beYond Borders” with a heartfelt ceremony honoring the outstanding contributions of its faculty and staff on March 14, 2025, at the University Auditorium, MinSU Main Campus, Alcate, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro. The Recognition of Service and Loyalty Awardees served as a fitting finale to the anniversary celebration, reveling the unwavering dedication and commitment of employees who have played a vital role in the university’s growth and success.
In her message, University President Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol expressed her deep appreciation for the MinSU community’s dedication, underscoring how their collective efforts have fueled the university’s remarkable progress. She highlighted the institution’s continuous growth, from the expansion of academic programs and research initiatives to the strengthening of partnerships that enhance the university’s impact.
"This moment is not just a time for reflection but a springboard for the future," Dr. Apostol said, acknowledging the resilience and commitment that have shaped MinSU’s journey. She emphasized that the university has cultivated a dynamic learning environment where students are empowered to pursue their passions and become leaders of tomorrow.
Dr. Apostol also extended her gratitude to MinSU’s former presidents and leaders, acknowledging their vision and leadership in shaping the institution’s growth
"Salamat sa ating lahat—dahil bawat isa sa atin ay may mahalagang papel sa kung ano man tayo noon, sa kung ano tayo ngayon, at sa kung ano tayo magiging sa hinaharap," she shared as he ended her message.
Ms. Maria Theresa R. Poblador, Director II of the Civil Service Commission Regional Office IV, Field Office, Oriental Mindoro, served as the keynote speaker. During her speech, she commended the awardees for their commitment and invaluable contributions to the University.
"As MinSU celebrates its 4th anniversary, I am filled with admiration and pride for the remarkable journey you have undertaken. Your growth, achievements, and unwavering commitment to excellence inspire confidence in the incredible potential that lies within each member of this community," she said.
She further emphasized the significance of the recognition, urging the awardees to continue striving for excellence and innovation.
"These accolades are more than just milestones; they are reminders of your potential and catalysts for even greater achievements. Embrace the challenges ahead with courage and determination, and let your success inspire others to follow in your footsteps. Together, let us build a legacy that transcends borders and makes a lasting impact on the world," she added.
Quoting Mahatma Gandhi, she left the audience with a powerful message: "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."
The event honored 26 service awardees for their years of service in government, recognizing milestones of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years. Likewise, 23 loyalty awardees awardees were recognized for their long-standing commitment and dedicated service to MinSU. Among the loyalty awardees was Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, University President, who was recognized for her 20 years of service to the institution.
MinSU also paid tribute to its former leaders who played instrumental roles in the university’s development. The university recognized the members of the Board of Regents, former university presidents, former state college presidents, and former campus executive directors for their leadership and vision, which helped shape MinSU into the institution it is today.
Special recognition was given to retirees Mr. Ariel A. Leynes (Farmer Worker II), Ms. Felisa A. Rocha (Supply Officer I), and Dr. Mercedinia M. Ureta (Associate Professor IV) for their years of service. The university also presented a posthumous award to the family of the late Mr. Joey V. Liwanag, a former university driver, honoring his invaluable contribution to the university community.
Apart from these, the ceremony also celebrated excellence in research and extension, recognizing the Most Outstanding Research and Development (R&D) Project and the Most Outstanding Extension Project of 2025, which have made a positive impact on the university and the community.
The event served as a tribute to the dedication, loyalty, and hard work of the MinSU family, reinforcing the university's commitment to excellence and service.
