The second day of Mindoro State University's 4th anniversary celebration was filled with exciting activities and important milestones across its campuses, March 12, 2025.

At MinSU Calapan Campus, students enjoyed the lively Hydro Color Fest organized by the University Student Government. The event featured a fun water and color party, a parade, and a competition for the best giant logo.

University President Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol and Campus Executive Director Dr. Franie M. Afable joined the event, showing support for the students’ creativity and teamwork.

Simultaneously, the official kick-off ceremony at the MinSU Main Campus marked the formal start of the 4th anniversary celebration. In her message, Dr. Apostol expressed gratitude to the former university presidents whose leadership laid the foundation for MinSU’s progress and growth.

Governor Humerlito "Bonz" A. Dolor, a long-standing member of the MinSU Board of Regents (BOR), served as the keynote speaker. He recalled his consistent support for MinSU and reaffirmed his commitment to the university’s initiatives under Dr. Apostol’s leadership. Governor Dolor also announced financial support for over 400 college students who have not yet received any assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the past three months. Each student is set to receive ₱4,000 in cash assistance — a timely boost for the students’ academic needs.

Also present during the event were other members of the BOR, local government officials, MinSU key officials, faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders.

Following the kick-off ceremony, the MinSU Quadrangle came alive with the Field Demonstration Competition, where six colleges showcased their creativity and teamwork through dynamic performances. BS Tourism’s D’Byaheros claimed the championship title with their dynamic performance. The College of Agriculture and Allied Fields’ Secret Agents secured second place, while the Flame Hashira of the College of Teacher Education and Laboratory High School took third place. The College of Computer Studies ranked fourth, followed by the Institute of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering in fifth place and BS Entrepreneurship in sixth.

In addition, a major highlight of the day was the launching and systems demonstration of GADLY, held at MinSU Calapan Campus. GADLY is an innovative tool designed to promote gender-inclusive communication developed as a capstone project by BS Information Technology students, namely, Moses I. Alcantar, Christian Angel V. Bual, Pamela C. Delizo, and Cedric Louise G. Gonda, under the guidance of their adviser, Mr. Christian I. Cabrera in 2023. The system identifies gender-biased terms and suggests neutral alternatives to promote respect and equality in communication.

Dr. Edna Imelda F. Legaspi, Director IV of CHED MIMAROPA and a Gender and Development (GAD) advocate, served as the guest speaker. She emphasized the significance of the tool in advancing gender equality and women's empowerment, especially as the nation celebrates National Women’s Month.
