The training, conducted on July 21 to 23, 2025 at the Marco Vincent Dive and Hotel, Puerto Galera, tackled different strategic foresight and preparing for possible futures and scenarios of MinSU and what the university actually envisions itself to be in the future.

Gracing the event were esteemed resource experts that are seasoned in futures thinking, Dr. Ramces M. Dili, Assistant Professor II, and Ms. Jalaine Joyce V. In her message, Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, University President, shared her aspirations for the realization of a better future for MinSU, highlighting the acronym “FUTURE”:

F – Foresight: “We have to foresee the direction of MinSU.”

U – Understand: “We have to understand the essence of the 3-day capability building. This is a step for giving value to MinSU.”

T – Transform: “We have to transform our challenges to opportunities and ideas to tangible values.”

U – Unite: “We have to unite our diversity, our differences. Magkasundo tayo sa iisang layunin – to lift MinSU.”

R – Reframe: “We have to reframe our systems, programs, projects, activities, and policies that will make us future-ready.”

E – Evaluate: “We have to evaluate our existing system to improve.”

With the three-day capacity building for key university officials, faculty and staff, the participants were able to dive into scenario building and Causal Layered Analysis (CLA), which is highly relevant to analyze MinSU’s current strengths and challenges and grasp a clear vision for the university in 2040, 2050 and years to come.

“The 3-day training may not be enough, but it is a big leap to lift MinSU. Malayo na tayo, pero mas malayo pa ang maaabot sa future basta sama-sama at may paniniwala at pagtitiwala sa isa’t isa,” Dr. Apostol motivated everyone.
