For the first time in its history, Mindoro State University (MinSU) has produced a topnotcher in the Fisheries Professionals Licensure Examination (FPLE). Kathleen Kaye E. Abueva, a proud graduate of MinSU Bongabong Campus, secured the Top 4 spot in the October 2025 FPLE with an impressive rating of 90%.
Abueva placed fourth among 1,507 successful examinees in the licensure examination administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on October 9 - 10, 2025. The results, released on October 15, revealed that 1,507 out of 2,165 examinees passed, posting a national passing rate of 69.61%.
Adding to this remarkable feat, MinSU achieved an overall 75% passing rate, exceeding the national average, with 27 new Fisheries Professionals successfully earning their licenses. The University commends the faculty and staff of the Institute of Fisheries at MinSU Bongabong Campus, led by Ms. Mary Ann Royo, for their unwavering mentorship and dedication to academic excellence.
Recognized as the flagship program of MinSU Bongabong Campus, the Fisheries program continues to uphold the University’s commitment to quality education, research, and community engagement, producing graduates who contribute meaningfully to sustainable fisheries and aquatic resource management.
