Born from a simple but heartbreaking MinSU Freedom Wall post, Project HAPAG (Hatid Alaga, Pagkain at Ginhawa) is now a lifeline for students quietly battling hunger.

The viral confession—“Ang hirap maging mahirap… lagi kang pipili sa pagitan ng sikmura at pangarap”—moved University President Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol to immediate action. One student shared how they chose to spend their last peso on a school project instead of a meal—an everyday struggle many MinSUans silently endure.
Upon reading the story, University President Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol immediately committed to addressing the issue. She announced the creation of a food pantry funded personally and not sourced from any government or university budget. Within the same day, she acted on this commitment and established the first HAPAG Pantry at the MinSU Calapan Campus, located outside the Office of the President.

Now launched in the three campuses—Project HAPAG provides accessible food items such as noodles, biscuits, coffee, and water for students in need. The system is simple: students may take what they need, and those with the capacity to contribute may donate supplies.
University officials also expressed support for the initiative during the Main Campus launching, affirming its role in assisting students experiencing food insecurity.

More than a food pantry, Project HAPAG serves as a community effort that encourages responsibility, generosity, and solidarity within MinSU. It stands as a practical response to a real student concern—ensuring that no MinSUan has to compromise nutrition just to continue learning.
