Mindoro State University (MinSU) joined the 2nd National Workshop on UI GreenMetric PH, hosted virtually by Batangas State University via Zoom on August 27, 2024. Organized by the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings Network (UIGWURN), the workshop aimed to enhance sustainability efforts across Philippine universities.
The workshop provided a platform for universities to share best practices in campus sustainability, engage in panel discussions with government and industry partners, and receive guidance on completing UI GreenMetric questionnaires. One of the highlights was a panel discussion titled "Global Collaboration for Sustainable Action: How the Government, Industry, and Academe Can Partner for a Sustainable Future?" which explored collaborative efforts to advance the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As of 2023, 22 universities across the country are part of UIGWURN. With this event, MinSU is eyeing to participate in UIGWURN, aiming to align its sustainability initiatives with global standards.
Three (3) faculty and staff members from MinSU attended the workshop, gaining valuable insights and fostering connections with other universities in the UIGWURN network.
