Mindoro State University (MinSU) engineer and innovator Engr. Christian B. Hernandez has been named a regional qualifier and national semi-finalist in the Gawad Lingkod Bayan under the Gawad Pagasa Individual Category, adding another distinction to the University’s growing record in innovation and public service.
Engr. Hernandez, Instructor I of MinSU was among the regional qualifiers and national semi-finalists recognized during the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Region IV Gawad Lingkod Bayani Recognition Rites held September 10, 2026 at Luxent Hotel, South Triangle, Quezon City.
The recognition honors government workers who have made notable contributions to public service. For Hernandez, it reflects his work in developing technology-driven solutions that respond to the needs of communities and the public sector.
Engr. Hernandez serves as project leader of the Project MOSES powered by GENESIS, a MinSU-led innovation developed in partnership with DOST-MIMAROPA and DEPDev to strengthen localized weather monitoring and provide communities and decision-makers with timely information for disaster preparedness and resilience.
He was accompanied by his mother, Mrs. Mia B. Hernandez, and Ms. Filomena P. Reyes, MinSU Chief Administrative Officer at the recognition rites. (jdtdc)
