In its ongoing commitment to community engagement and youth development, Mindoro State University (MinSU) opened its sports facilities to host the Unit Athletic Meet 2024, held on November 9, 2024. The event, organized by the Department of Education Victoria District, was part of the Unit Meet held from November 8 to 10, 2024,
The Unit Athletic Meet serves as a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills, foster sportsmanship, and practice values such as discipline, teamwork, excellence, fair play, solidarity, and sportsmanship. The event encourages the development of these values, which are essential for the well-rounded growth of students.
MinSU’s gymnasium and open fields were made available to provide an ideal and conducive venue for young athletes to compete and showcase their skills. The university’s support ensured that the athletes had the facilities they needed to perform at their best, creating a positive and competitive environment.
The annual athletic meet brought together student-athletes from both private and public elementary and secondary schools within Unit 3, which includes the municipalities of Pola, Socorro, and Victoria in Oriental Mindoro. The competition not only gave students the opportunity to hone their athletic abilities but also strengthened the spirit of collaboration and friendly rivalry among the schools.
