The rhythmic cadence of brass instruments filled the air as the Musikero Brass Band of Mindoro State University (MinSU) showcased their undeniable talent at Tunog Mindoro 2024, securing an impressive 4th place among 10 school contenders from across the province. The event, held on November 14, 2024, in Calapan City, was part of the grand celebration of the 74th Founding Anniversary of Oriental Mindoro, known as Fiesta MAHAL TANA.
Representing MinSU with pride and precision, the Musikero Brass Band captivated the audience with their energetic and heartfelt performance, skillfully blending traditional and modern musical styles. Their display of musical mastery and team spirit earned them a loud applause from the crowd and recognition from the panel of judges.
“This experience was unforgettable. We worked hard to represent MinSU with pride, even though we lacked equipment and practice time. We commend the students for giving their all in this competition,” shared Mr. Darius M. Abog, MinSU faculty member and band master of the Musikero Brass Band.
Likewise, University President Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol personally congratulated the band, commending their outstanding performance and dedication to represent the university with distinction.
The Tunog Mindoro competition highlighted the province’s vibrant musical tradition, bringing together talented brass bands from various schools across the province to showcase their artistry and camaraderie.
