Christmas is indeed in the air!
Step into a world of wonder and holiday cheer as the Salong Dagitab Christmas Festival 2024 illuminates the Provincial Capitol Grounds in Barangay Camilmil, Calapan City, November 27.
This year’s festival is brimming with joy and creativity, featuring 10 enchanting displays inspired by Netflix animated films.
With dazzling lights and heartwarming charm, Mindoro State University (MinSU) officially unveiled and lit its entry featuring Sing 2: A Christmas Spectacle. Inspired by the animated blockbuster movie Sing 2, the MinSU display radiates the holiday spirit with glittering lights, towering ornaments, and creative iconic characters from the film.
Sing 2, a sequel to the popular animated musical Sing, follows the story of Buster Moon and his troupe of performers as they strive to showcase their talents on the global stage and achieve their dreams against all odds. Much like the characters in the film, MinSU mirrors these themes of resilience and excellence in its commitment to education, innovation, and community upliftment. The university continues to inspire Oriental Mindoreños with its dedication to creativity, inclusivity, and service.
The opening night featured spectacular performances, acts, show, and gimmicks from each participating entry to capture the audience's attention. MinSU’s talented students showcased a musical performance, bringing the magic of Sing 2 to life with a medley of its hit songs, reimagined with a festive Christmas twist. The crowd was captivated as MinSU performers, clad in vibrant costumes, danced and sang with infectious energy.
Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, University President, personally attended and spearheaded the lighting and unveiling of MinSU’s entry. She commended the university team for their dedication and expressed her pride in MinSU’s creative display.
Everyone is invited to experience the magic of MinSU’s Sing 2: A Christmas Spectacle display and celebrate the holidays with light, music, and shared joy. The festival, including other Netflix-inspired animated displays, is open to the public throughout the season.
