The National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) formally turned over the approved Records Disposition Schedule (RDS) to Mindoro State University (MinSU) in a ceremony held on September 9 at the MinSU Main Campus, Alcate, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro.

On behalf of MinSU, the RDS was received by key university officials including Vice President for Administration and Finance Joelene C. Leynes, Vice President for Academic Affairs Ciedelle P. Salazar, Board Secretary V. Genelita E. Hernandez, Filomena P. Reyes, and Presidential Management Chief of Staff Jerrel S. Reyes, who represented University President Enya Marie D. Apostol.

The RDS serves as an essential tool for the systematic, transparent, and accountable management of official records, aligning MinSU with national standards in records handling.

In her message delivered by Dr. Reyes, Dr. Apostol underscored the broader significance of the milestone.

“Our work as a university is not only about producing knowledge but also preserving it with care and integrity,” she said. “When we manage our records responsibly, we honor our legacy and ensure that future generations will inherit a university that is transparent, accountable, and strong.”

Meanwhile, NAP Chief Records Management Analyst Elizabeth B. Eje emphasized the shared responsibility that comes with the turnover.

“This event marks not just the handover of records but the continuation of our collective duty to ensure that every process undertaken is transparent, accountable, and aligned with our mandate. These RDS, which have undergone thorough review and approval, represent your dedication and cooperation,” she said.

Eje further explained that the RDS plays a vital role in public records management as it determines the appropriate actions to be taken for future records.

“The RDS is not only for disposing valueless records but, more importantly, for identifying and preserving permanent records,” she added.

Following the turnover, NAP representatives conducted an orientation and workshop on Records Management and Disposition Schedule to provide technical guidance and further strengthen the University’s compliance and best practices.
