The Mindoro State University Bongabong Campus (MBC) successfully conducted "Mind Matters: A Holistic Approach to Mental Health Seminar" on October 20 at the MBC Gymnasium.
Employees were able to take a breather from the stress through engaging exercises that help release their stress, such as reenactments of their everyday stressors and how to properly deal with them so as not to deplete the mental health and still be able to function according to their respective duties.
Pastor Right Castillo, RGC facilitated the event, wherein he also shared some insights on a healthy mental well-being and motivational messages to help inspire the participants to keep going despite the challenges they face.
Dr. Eva V. Briñosa, Coordinator for Administrative and Support Services, highlighted the need for employees to mind their mental health, and coined an acronym to help overcome the mental battles that they face, namely "M.E.N.D. Matters," which stands for:
M - Move on
E - Erase negative thoughts, feelings, emotions
N - Nurture our emotions, feelings and mind
D - Delightful with the presence with God. Let’s mend everything to God.
Mental health is not a joke and should be treated with utmost care and attention. The Mindoro State University ensures that every employee and student is able to attain healthy mental stability to be able to fully accomplish their goals in life and be the best version of themselves while enjoying life and its challenges.
This initiative is part of the celebration of the Mental Health Month, commemorated this October, with the theme, "Mental Health in Humanitarian Emergencies," which also highlights the necessity to prioritize our mental well-being especially in times of disasters and crises, which is relevant in our country today.
