Fiesta MAHAL TANA 2025: MinSU highlights innovations at Agricultural Fiesta

In celebration of the 75th Araw ng Oriental Mindoro, also known as Fiesta MAHAL TANA, Mindoro State University (MinSU) actively participated in the Agricultural Fiesta organized by the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office at the Provincial Demonstration Farm, Brgy. Merit, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro, on November 12, 2025.

The event showcased various products, technologies, and services in agriculture and fisheries, aiming to recognize and honor the skill, dedication, and resilience of the province’s farmers and fishers.

Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, University President, graced the opening program together with officials from the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro, led by Gov. Humerlito “Bonz” A. Dolor. Also present were representatives from various agencies and sectors committed to advancing agriculture and sustainable development in the province.

As a leading institution in research and extension in the province, MinSU set up exhibit booths highlighting its innovations and services. Featured were the MinSU i-BIBES, the University’s Technology Business Incubator Program that provides crucial support for aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators; and Project MOSES (Monitoring of Site-Specific E-weather Stations), an IoT-based system that enhances real-time weather monitoring in the Mag-asawang Tubig watershed.

Moreover, students from the Institute of Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering (IABE) also had the opportunity to participate, serving as an opportunity to explore and learn about innovative and modern technologies in farming, fisheries, and other aspects of agriculture.

MinSU’s participation extended beyond technology and agriculture, also supporting the preservation and promotion of local culture as of MinSU representatives from MinSU served as as observers and judges for the cooking competition featuring Mindoreño cuisine.

The active participation of Mindoro State University in this celebration demonstrates the University’s strong support and dedication to advancing agriculture, innovation, and culture in Oriental Mindoro. MinSU ensures that knowledge, technology, and research become instruments for the progress and upliftment of every Mindoreño’s life.
