The Mindoro State University (MinSU) celebrated the academic achievements of its graduating students with investiture and recognition ceremonies, June 13, 2024.

The events began with a baccalaureate mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Jon F. Cusi. In his welcome remarks, Dr. Nemesio H. Davalos, Vice President for Academic Affairs, congratulated the graduating class of AY 2023-2024. He defined the investiture as a formal investment in the graduating students, granting them authority, rights, power, and dignity. Dr. Davalos emphasized that the investiture serves as a platform to showcase the leadership abilities, skills, and knowledge gained by students during their time at the university. As he concluded his message, he challenged the graduating class to carry forward the values instilled in them by MinSU.

“The MinSU community expects that you are now globally competitive and always at the forefront of economic, political, and social development, highlighting the resilience, integrity, commitment, and excellence that MinSU inculcates in your minds,” stated Dr. Davalos.

The ceremonies highlighted the traditional hooding of the graduates, a significant rite of passage symbolizing their transition from students to professionals. This was followed by awarding various honors to outstanding students who excelled in academics, leadership, and community service.

A special highlight was the heartfelt messages of gratitude delivered by students who achieved Latin honors. Venus Alcantara, graduating Magna cum laude from Bachelor in Secondary Education, Dezerei Sunaz from Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Angel S. Ilagan from Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, and Ana Rose C. Perez from Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry shared their reflections and expressed gratitude to their mentors, families, friends, classmates, and the university.

One of the ceremonies' most touching moments was the tribute paid by the graduating students to their loved ones. Graduating students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to their families and friends, acknowledging the unwavering support and sacrifices that contributed to their success. The atmosphere was filled with emotion as students and their loved ones shared this milestone and embraced success.

Meanwhile, Dr. Christian Anthony C. Agutaya, OIC-University President, graced the events and delivered an inspiring closing address. He congratulated the graduating class on their hard work and perseverance and motivated them to feel proud of their achievements. He also encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in their future endeavors, emphasizing that the world needs extraordinarily talented people amidst the greatest phase of change.
