MinSU Welcomes Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol as Its First Woman President

Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, elected as Mindoro State University's second president on July 11, 2024, marks a historic milestone as the university's first woman president.

Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol takes the helm of Mindoro State University (MinSU) as she has been elected as the second university president, July 11, 2024. She makes history as the first woman to hold this position. She succeeds Dr. Christian Anthony C. Agutaya, who had served as the officer-in-charge for eight months.

Dr. Apostol, a dedicated and distinguished educator with a proven track record in teaching, administration, research, and community service, has served as core faculty at the MinSU-Calapan City Campus. She previously held positions as the Director for Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation, and the Director for Finance, Administrative, and Support Services. Additionally, she has been a fellow on the International Academic Visit for the Professional Advancement of Higher Education Executives in the Philippines, participated in the Higher Education Career System – Executive Program, and was a scholar in the Multimedia Enhanced Instructions System for Education and Training.

In a recent presidential public presentation and forum, Dr. Apostol shared her vision of MinSU as the "region’s university of choice," with goals summarized in the acronym LIFT MINSU: Leadership Excellence, Inclusivity, Fiscal Prudence, Technological Advancement, Management of Resources, Innovation, and Network of Collaborative Partnerships.

The selection process for the MinSU president involves a search committee, nomination, public presentation and forum, and election by the MinSU Board of Regents.
