Mindoro State University (MinSU) held its first flag ceremony under the leadership of its newly appointed president, Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, marking a new chapter in the institution’s history. Held at the university auditorium on July 15, 2024. MinSU key officials, faculty and staff gathered to welcome the new university president.

In her message, President Apostol expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the entire MinSU community for their trust and support throughout her journey to the presidency. She particularly acknowledged the interim leadership of Dr. Christian Anthony C. Agutaya, who steered the university as the Officer-in-Charge over the past eight months, guiding MinSU through a period of transition with commendable dedication.

Additionally, she recognized all former presidents who have laid the foundation of excellence at MinSU.: Dr. Levy V. Arago Jr., the first university president; Dr. Jesse T. Zamora, the last state college president; and Dr. Angelito A. Bacudo, the first college president.

“Let’s steer MinSU to become a region’s university of choice. We can make change happen and let’s change for the better,” she remarked, encapsulating her vision for the university.

Furthermore, President Apostol pledged to serve the university and its community with love and commitment free from any prejudice, judgment, and fear.

With her vision to elevate MinSU as a region’s university of choice, President Apostol outlined her strategic direction to strengthen the pillars of instructions, research, extension and resource generation, summarized in her initiative dubbed as "LIFT MINSU" — Leadership Excellence, Inclusivity, Fiscal Prudence, Technological Advancement, Management of Resources, Innovation, and Network of Collaborative Partnerships. She emphasized that collective effort is required to achieve developmental goals, stressing unity and commitment among faculty and staff.

“Let us make them ours, not mine alone,” President Apostol expressed.

Ending her message with a promise of dedication to the university's aspirations, President Apostol stated, “Our dreams, we will achieve together. I am Dr. Enya Marie Dinglasan Apostol, your guide, your apostle!”

The ceremony also showed warm welcomes and reflections from other key figures. Dr. Jesse T. Zamora, former president and current faculty regent, extended his heartfelt welcome to the new president, urging MinSU employees to support President Apostol in her mission to elevate the university to greater heights.

Dr. Agutaya, who served as OIC for the past eight months, expressed sincere thanks to the faculty and staff for their support during his tenure. “The accomplishments of my administration are not mine alone. I am beyond proud to all of you for your efforts to help bring this university to where it stands today,” he said. He also encouraged everyone continued cooperation to achieve the collective dream of being recognized in the world university rankings, emphasizing that this goal requires the efforts of every employee.

“As I step down as your OIC, my dedication and love for MinSU shall forever remain. I have trust and confidence that each one of you will support our new first lady president to reach even greater heights and achievements,” Dr. Agutaya concluded.

The ceremony symbolized continuity and optimism as MinSU looks ahead under President Apostol's guidance and leadership.
