The ceremony formally marked students’ entry into the field, with the hard hat symbolizing readiness for fieldwork and the pin representing their identity as future Agriculture and Biosystems Engineers.
In a message delivered during the event, the Dr. Christian B. Apostol, MinSU Main Campus Executive Director underscored the significance of the rite, stating that receiving the hard hat and pin reflects students’ readiness to take on more advanced and practical responsibilities in their profession.
Speaking on behalf of the student body, fourth-year representative Harley Hernandez reflected on the challenges faced throughout their academic journey, noting that setbacks became part of their growth as aspiring engineers.
Engr. Fernando A. Paralejas, Faculty member and September 2022 ABELE Topnotcher (Rank 1), highlighted the program’s growth, recalling its early years when only a handful of students were enrolled. He encouraged students to focus on perseverance rather than speed, reminding them that success is built through sustained effort.
The ceremony was attended by parents and families, reflecting the role of support systems in students’ academic milestones. Closing the program, Engr. John John M. Bidon emphasized that the achievement bears not only the students’ efforts but also the sacrifices of their families.
The inaugural ceremony signals the strengthening of IABE’s training culture, reinforcing its commitment to preparing students for the demands of the engineering profession.
