More than 500 graduating students joined the Pre-employment Seminar organized by the Office of Student Support and Engagement through the Guidance Office on May 25, 2026 at the MinSU Main Campus Auditorium, equipping future graduates with essential knowledge and skills for employment and professional life after college.

The seminar covered key topics on life after college, including labor education, overseas employment, job hunting strategies, resume writing, and interview preparation. It was conducted across the University’s three campuses to accommodate graduating students from various programs, beginning on May 21 at the Calapan City Campus, followed by the Main Campus on May 25, and concluding on May 26 at the Bongabong Campus.

During the morning session, Ms. Katleen Perez, Labor and Employment Officer II of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), discussed labor education and workers’ rights, while Mr. Tristan Arvin Perez, Overseas Workers Welfare Officer III of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), shared insights on overseas employment preparation for aspiring migrant workers.

In the afternoon session, selected faculty members shared practical advice on employment preparation and professional examinations. Mr. Dave Peralta discussed resume writing and job interview techniques, while Engr. Fernando A. Paralejas Jr., Rank 1 of the 2022 Agriculture and Biosystems Engineers Licensure Examination, encouraged students to remain disciplined in preparing for their board examinations. Meanwhile, Mr. John Ruel Ramos shared strategies for passing the Civil Service Examination.

Assessing the students’ situations and needs that may arise, the seminar provided a leverage for the graduating students so they can have proper bearings when they leave the University to face off in the real world.

Closing the program, Dr. Jerome Jef Zamora, Director for Student Support and Engagement emphasized preparedness after graduation is key to a successful path ahead of chasing their dreams.
