Mindoro State University Bongabong Campus formally launched 505 new professionals into the workforce as it held its 48th Commencement Exercises on June 15, 2026 at the MBC Gymnasium, marking another milestone in the university’s continuing contribution to regional and national development.
The ceremony celebrated graduates from various disciplines including education, fisheries, criminology, information technology, computer engineering, entrepreneurship, hospitality management, tourism management, and political science, reflecting MinSU’s commitment to producing competent, industry-ready, and service-oriented professionals.
It underscored the university’s role in addressing the growing demand for skilled human resources across key sectors of society, with the graduates expected to strengthen the workforce in schools, government agencies, industries, communities, and enterprises throughout Mindoro and beyond.
Serving as Guest of Honor and Commencement Speaker was Dir. Roberto R. Abrera, Regional Director of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR-MIMAROPA), who reminded the graduates that opportunities are already present within MIMAROPA - waiting to be discovered, nurtured, and strengthened by young leaders who are willing to stay, serve, and make a difference in their own communities.
The graduating class also demonstrated academic excellence, with 98 graduates earning Latin honors and 113 With Academic Distinction. Leading the honorees were 15 Magna Cum Laude and 83 Cum Laude awardees from various programs, reflecting the campus’ strong culture of academic achievement and perseverance.
As the graduates took their oath of loyalty and were formally inducted into the MinSU Alumni Association, the ceremony signified not only the completion of their academic journey but also the beginning of a larger responsibility to contribute to society.
The 2026 graduating class leaves MinSU Bongabong Campus equipped with knowledge, skills, and values developed through years of academic preparation. Their entry into the workforce represents a significant addition to the pool of professionals who will help shape the future of Oriental Mindoro and support the country's continuing pursuit of inclusive growth and sustainable development.
For MinSU, the commencement exercises serve as a reminder that every graduate is more than a degree holder—they are future educators, innovators, entrepreneurs, public servants, and community leaders whose impact will extend far beyond the walls of the university.
