Mindoro State University has taken a major step in protecting its intellectual assets after obtaining trademark registrations from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) for three of its flagship institutional brands—the official University logo, the LIFTMINSU logo, and the MinSU i-BIBES logo—giving the University exclusive legal ownership over these identities and strengthening its long-term institutional integrity.
University President Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol described the milestone as a strategic investment in protecting the University's heritage while reinforcing its institutional identity as MinSU continues to advance instruction, research, innovation, extension, and internationalization.
The trademarked LIFTMINSU logo embodies the University's strategic development agenda centered on leadership excellence, innovation, sustainability, technological advancement, and inclusive growth. Meanwhile, the i-BIBES logo secures the identity of MinSU's flagship technology business incubator, which transforms research into market-ready technologies, supports startups, and accelerates biosystems innovation for regional development.
The trademark registrations were facilitated by MinSU i-BIBES through the Office of Innovation under the Office of the Vice President for Research, Innovation, Technology, and Extension (OVPRITE), with technical assistance from the Department of Science and Technology–Oriental Mindoro through Project ISIP.
The achievement strengthens MinSU's intellectual property portfolio and institutional branding, ensuring that the University's official identities are legally protected as it continues to expand its impact in higher education, research, innovation, and public service. (jdtdc / raj / jcg / kpic)
