More Mindoreño entrepreneurs are gaining access to digital markets as DoroShop, a Cohort 1 incubatee of the MinSU i-BIBES (Innovative Business Incubator for Biosystems Solutions), continues to expand its network of local merchants, creating new opportunities for community-based enterprises to grow beyond traditional markets.
In its latest merchant engagement initiative, the DoroShop team, together with MinSU i-BIBES, visited Mikko Banana Chips and Jha-Nneth Banana Chips to introduce the platform and explore opportunities for bringing more locally made products to the growing e-commerce marketplace.
The initiative aims to help local entrepreneurs increase product visibility, reach more customers, and tap into wider market opportunities through digital commerce.
The engagement resulted in the successful onboarding of Mikko Banana Chips, making the enterprise one of DoroShop's newest merchants. The partnership marks another milestone in the platform's mission to connect consumers with quality local products while helping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) strengthen their online presence.
Meanwhile, discussions with Jha-Nneth Banana Chips also showed promising progress. Although the enterprise has yet to finalize its participation, its owners expressed strong interest in joining the platform after recognizing the opportunities that digital marketplaces offer for business expansion.
Beyond building an online marketplace, DoroShop demonstrates how startup innovation can address real challenges faced by local entrepreneurs, particularly in accessing broader markets and embracing digital transformation.
The initiative also reflects the continuing support of MinSU i-BIBES to its incubatees beyond the incubation period through strategic market linkages, merchant acquisition, and industry partnerships that help startups scale their operations and create lasting economic impact.
As DoroShop continues to expand its merchant network, it reinforces its role as a homegrown digital marketplace that champions local products, empowers Mindoreño entrepreneurs, and contributes to building a more competitive and innovation-driven regional economy. (kpic)
