With the opening of Academic Year 2026–2027 fast approaching, the Mindoro State University – Bongabong Campus community mobilized for a two-day cleanup and improvement drive to prepare its learning spaces for the return of students.
Dubbed Project REVIVE (Renewing Educational Venues through Initiative, Volunteerism, and Excellence), the initiative was held on July 20–21, 2026, at the MinSU-Bongabong Campus. It brought together faculty members, employees, students, volunteers, organizations, and partners in a shared effort to improve campus facilities and create a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment.
The activity opened with a program led by Dr. Mary Jeane S. Lubos, Campus Executive Director, followed by a Zumba session and an orientation on project activities, safety protocols, and proper waste segregation to guide volunteers throughout the undertaking.
Volunteers cleaned classrooms, repainted facilities, cleared pathways, and carried out other improvements across the campus. From more than 10 volunteering organizations, a total of 324 volunteers also joined the faculty, staff, and students in carrying out the campus-wide clean-up and improvement. More than 35 sponsors also provided cash and in-kind donations to support the initiative.
A Community Lunch was held on the first day to recognize the volunteers and partners before the activities resumed.
Meanwhile, students from the Mindoro State University – Bongabong Campus - Bulalacao Extension Class also joined Project Campus REVIVE on July 20, 2026, contributing their time and effort to help prepare their learning environment for the new academic year.
The project left the Bongabong campus as well as Bulalacao Extension Class ready for the new academic year - and showed what a university community can accomplish when it works together. (jdtdc)
