Mindoro State University (MinSU) welcomed the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) MIMAROPA Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) on September 17, 2026, as the University opened a regional quality assessment of its Graduate Teacher Education Programs.
Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, University President, formally welcomed the assessment team, joined by key University officials, Vice Presidents, and Dean of the Graduate School Dr. Alice Ramos, as the University began the assessment activities.
The RQA provided an opportunity for CHED MIMAROPA to take a closer look at MinSU’s graduate teacher education programs, including their academic implementation, learning resources, facilities, and laboratories. The assessment also allowed the University to present its existing practices and initiatives in advancing the quality of graduate education.
The assessment team was led by Dr. Lino C. Reynoso of the Technical Panel for Graduate Teacher Education, alongside RQAT Members for Teacher Education Dr. Kristoffer Conrad M. Tejada, Dr. Mary G. Alvior, and Dr. Rudy James D. Tabasa, with Ms. Lovelyn L. Chen, Education Supervisor II, completing the team.
Throughout the assessment, the RQAT engaged with the University’s graduate programs and examined the facilities and laboratories supporting instruction and academic activities. The process provided an external perspective that can help further strengthen the University’s systems, resources, and delivery of graduate teacher education.
For MinSU, the assessment forms part of its continuing quality assurance efforts—an opportunity not only to demonstrate existing strengths, but also to identify areas where the University can further improve.
As the University continues to expand its academic offerings, MinSU remains committed to building graduate programs that uphold quality, respond to the changing needs of educators, and contribute meaningfully to the development of the education sector. (marm)
