Real innovations don't just stop at being invented. It is tested through its impact on the community.
Fourth Year BSIT students from MinSU Calapan Campus proved that ingenuity can solve community challenges through their invention of NatsGo, a mobile app to track real-time routes and arrival times of NATSCO (Naujan Transport Service Cooperative) modernized PUVs.
Their innovation aims to solve a crucial everyday challenge of catching the ride on time, not just for students, but for other citizens as well.
To better assist in the app navigation, users can be assisted by Nori, the in-app assistant powered by AI, that helps provide the data on terminals, PUV routes and locations and estimated time of arrival. Users can also receive notifications when the ride is within their location. In turn, NATSCO PUVs can also use the app to post advisories and traffic announcements relative to their routes.
NATSGO, an IoT-Enabled Tracking and Alert System for NATSCO's Modernized PUVs in Oriental Mindoro, was designed as a capstone project by Vincent Niño B. Acha, Von Lester C. Bacay, and Marjorie N. Canubas, under the supervision of their adviser, Engr. Jesus M. Bautista.
NatsGo will officially be launched on October 5, 2026 where GPS (Global Positioning System) and IoT (Internet of Things) devices shall be installed on NATSCO modern PUVs. (kpic)
