Years may have passed, but the bond with their alma mater remained.
Alumni from different generations returned to Mindoro State University (MinSU) Bongabong Campus on September 19, 2026 for Balik MinSU: Grand Alumni Homecoming 2026, turning a long-awaited reunion into a celebration of shared memories, friendship, and belonging.
Tracing their roots from the Bongabong School of Fisheries (BSF) and Bongabong College of Fisheries (BCF) to Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology (MinSCAT) Bongabong Campus and now MinSU, alumni came home from different eras of the institution’s history.
The celebration opened with a motorcade from the municipality of Bongabong to its neighboring town, Bansud, where alumni proudly displayed their banners before gathering at the MBC Gymnasium for the formal program. Student performances, games, and intermission numbers filled the venue with energy, and even alumni from older generations joined the fun and showed that age was no barrier to celebrating together. The University mascot, Tarik, also joined the celebration as he danced together with the alumni.
Beyond the festivities, the homecoming also looked toward the future as alumni discussed updates to their Constitution and By-Laws in support of reinstituting and strengthening their alumni association.
The celebration continued into the evening with a live band and socialization, giving former classmates and friends more time to reminisce, reconnect, and create new memories.
For the MBC alumni, Balik MinSU 2026 was more than coming back to a familiar place—it was a reminder that no matter how many years have passed or how the institution has changed, there will always be a home to return to. (kpic)
