Mindoro State University (MinSU) student-researchers secured third place in the HANDA MIMAROPA Resilience Innovation Challenge 2026, held as part of the 2026 MIMAROPA Regional Science, Technology and Innovation Week (RSTW) in Romblon.
Representing MinSU were College of Computer Studies (CCS) student-researchers and members of Team FERMA - Jan Selvister Montoya, Danilyn Nibot, and Mark Angelo Oprido - who presented HydRoute.AI, a smart system designed to sense, decide, route, and forecast water availability.
The team was guided and mentored by Dr. John Edgar S. Anthony, Dean of the College of Computer Studies.
The innovation earned recognition for its potential to address water-related challenges and contribute to climate resilience and sustainable water management.
HydRoute.AI integrates smart technologies to support informed decision-making on water availability, offering a potential solution for communities facing changing environmental conditions and water resource challenges. (jdtdc)
