The Mindoro State University (MinSU) participated in the prestigious University Incubators Consortium (UNIIC) Demo Day 2024, held at Jakarta and Bandung, Indonesia, on September 17-20, 2024. The event brought together university incubators from Asia, India, and South Africa, aiming to foster collaboration, innovation, and global cooperation.
Representing MinSU at the consortium were Dr. Christian Anthony C. Agutaya, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension (VPRDE), and Engr. Randy A. Joco, Technology Business Incubator Manager.
UNIIC Demo Day 2024, co-hosted by Telkom University, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, and Universitas Trisakti, featured series of engaging workshops focused on business development, startup pitching, and expert mentoring. Participants also engaged in cultural visits, networking events, and collaborative activities designed to expand innovative horizons.
One of the key highlights of the event was the startup pitching sessions at Telkom University, where cutting-edge solutions aimed at addressing industry gaps were presented. Many of these innovations align with the flagship programs of MinSU's Innovative Business Incubator for Biosystems Solutions (IBIBES), offering potential for future collaborations and local adaptations.
In addition to the workshops and pitching sessions, Dr. Agutaya and Engr. Joco had the opportunity to benchmark incubation programs at Universitas Indonesia’s Science Technopark, exploring state-of-the-art facilities critical for supporting startups. This visit provided valuable insights into how MinSU could enhance its own incubation initiatives.
Moreover, Telkom University showcased the impressive Bandung Techno Park, a hub of innovation featuring modern co-working spaces, incubator offices, high-tech fabrication labs, and exhibition rooms. This facility exemplified the kind of infrastructure needed to nurture entrepreneurial ecosystems.
The four-day event concluded at Universitas Trisakti with a celebration of Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage, further strengthening the connections and camaraderie among participating universities from different parts of the world.
With this international participation, MinSU, particularly through its newly established MinSU i-BIBES, is poised to enhance collaborations, explore global opportunities, and adopt best practices that align with international standards. This engagement marks a significant step toward driving innovation and fostering an entrepreneurial culture, benefiting the MinSU community and beyond.
