In celebration of World Mental Health Week, Mindoro State University (MinSU) hosted a weeklong Mental Health Awareness Program themed “Forda Healthy Mind: Ang Atake ng mga Ferson…Eyy,” led by the university's Guidance Office, October 7-11, 2024.

The initiative aimed to promote mental well-being among students, faculty, and staff across MinSU campuses through various activities that fostered connection, relaxation, and reflection.

Throughout the week, various activities were conducted across MinSU campuses to promote mental health awareness. The program kicked off with the launching of "Kapehan with Kumustahan," where students, faculty, staff, and other community members were encouraged to take a break, enjoy a cup of coffee, and engage in casual conversations. This relaxed environment aimed to foster connection and support among participants.

They also conducted series of mental health talk shows that emphasized the significance of mental health in overall well-being. Additionally, the Guidance Office offered consultation and counseling sessions for those seeking more personalized support.

To encourage relaxation and recreation, the program included various activities such as tarot reading, film viewings, board games, and jamming sessions. A "Freedom Wall" was also set up, allowing participants to express their thoughts and feelings, providing an outlet for emotional release.

The event received positive feedback from students, who appreciated the opportunity to de-stress and engage with others. Many noted that the activities helped them alleviate their mental burdens and forge new friendships. Additionally, the initiative helped break down misconceptions about the Guidance Office, showing students that it is a supportive space for all, rather than a place solely for disciplinary matters.
