Over 300 participants gathered at Mindoro State University’s (MinSU) three campuses from November 4-8, 2024, for the week-long i-BIBES Awareness Campaign. The activity, aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the province, brought together students, faculty, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), farmers’ associations, cooperatives, Sustainable Livelihood Program grantees, and rural organizations.
The campaign, focused on introducing MinSU’s Technology Business Incubator (TBI) program, provided essential support for aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators.
The campaign kicked off at MinSU Main Campus, Alcate, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro on November 4, 2024. MinSU President Dr. Enya Marie Apostol, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension Dr. Christian Anthony Agutaya, and College of Agriculture and Allied Fields Dean Dr. Nora Lasaca encouraged participants to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship.
In her message, Dr. Apostol emphasized the University's commitment to empower local entrepreneurs and innovators. She highlighted MinSU’s role, particularly the MinSU i-BIBES in helping aspiring entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life and strengthening the connections between the University, industry, and local communities. As she concluded her message, she urged participants to take full advantage of the resources and opportunities offered by the TBI program and the government agencies in attendance.
Industry leaders from government agencies in the region, including the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Agriculture (DA), and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), shared insights on funding, innovation, and resources available to local businesses. Key speakers, such as Ms. Rachel Montero from DOST MIMAROPA, Ms. Lysie Dayro from DTI Negosyo Center, Ms. Grace Chavez from DA MIMAROPA and Mr. Julius Aala from DICT facilitated discussions on mapping resources and brainstorming business ideas to address local industry challenges.

Resource experts, including Ms. Marynell Cueto from DTI, Ms. Chavez from DA MIMAROPA, and Mr. Aala from DICT, offered strategies on how their agencies can support emerging entrepreneurs and link education with real-world applications.
The final days of the campaign took place at MinSU Bongabong Campus, engaging local farmer associations, Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs), and MSMEs from 2nd District of Oriental Mindoro.
