MinSU Brings Mindoro's “Rumaragasang Bagsik” to STRASUC 2024

With hearts ablaze and spirits soaring, 130 athletes from Mindoro State University (MinSU) proudly represented the fierce pride of Mindoro as the 2024 Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (STRASUC) Olympics officially began on October 21, 2024, at the Edward S. Hagedorn Coliseum.

Puerto Princesa City, Palawan—With hearts ablaze and spirits soaring, 120 athletes from Mindoro State University (MinSU) proudly marched at the Edward S. Hagedorn Coliseum, Puerto Princesa City as the 2024 Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (STRASUC) Olympics officially kicked off, October 21, 2024.

The MinSU delegation, led by the ever-supportive University President, Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, embodied the fierce pride of Mindoro, carrying with them the symbols of MaHalTaNa – the Mangyan’s rich culture, the Mount Halcon’s towering strength, the resilience of the tamaraw, and the serenity of Naujan Lake.

Bearing the banner of the university, they displayed the resilience and fighting spirit of Mindoro during the opening ceremonies, with the echoing chants and cheers of "MinSU" resounding throughout the coliseum. “Rumaragasang Bagsik ng Mindoro,” they called, as they prepared to compete against other institutions across Southern Tagalog.

Hosted by Palawan State University, this year's STRASUC Olympics, which runs from October 21 to 25, 2024, has drawn over a thousand delegates from various member universities including Batangas State University, Cavite State University, Laguna State Polytechnic University, Marinduque State University, Occidental Mindoro State College, Romblon State University, Southern Luzon State University, the University of the Philippines Los Baños, University of Rizal System, Western Philippines University, and Palawan State University. The week-long event will showcase the athletes' talents and determination as they compete in various sports events, aiming not only for medals but to foster camaraderie and excellence across the region.

As the games unfold, MinSU athletes remain committed to bring pride and honor to the University and the province.
