Mindoro State University continues to advance cross-border engagement and international linkages as it participates in the Times Higher Education Global Sustainable Development Congress in Tangerang, Indonesia on June 22-25, 2026, as part of the Philippine delegation led by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

During the event, Mindoro State University was awarded a plaque of recognition for being included in the Top 801-1000 out of the 1603 institutions globally for the Overall Sustainability Impact Rankings, a significantly high ranking among the Philippine delegation. Compared to the University's ranking last year of 1001-1500th, it is a remarkably strong climb in the THE roster.

Representing Mindoro State University is Ms. Mary Antonette H. Dudas, Head of Global and Local Partnerships Unit of the External Linkages and International Affairs Office (ELIA). She, alongside the Philippine delegation and CHED led by Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino, CHED Commissioner, brought forth SDG-aligned strategic programs and initiatives to highlight the Philippine higher education landscape alongside sustainable development.

The congress brings together key stakeholders from higher education, government, industry, and civil society to discuss innovative solutions and strengthen collective efforts toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Co-hosted by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education, the global congress served as a platform for fostering international cooperation, exchanging best practices, and advancing sustainable development initiatives worldwide.

Beyond the exhibition component, the congress offers opportunities for high-level discussions and knowledge exchanges with leaders from academia, government, industry, and civil society. These engagements are designed to foster cross-border collaboration, strengthen research networks, and generate innovative approaches to addressing global development challenges.

As MinSU continues to reach its goal of being the region’s University of Choice, its participation reflects its strong commitment to linkaging and breaking boundaries to achieve sustainable development. It also reinforces the University’s contributions to global academic and innovative discussions that shall open more opportunities for development.
